Remove all blocks to positive road safty initiatives

CURRENT POSITION

Well meaning initiatives are being blocked by those who are pushing their own "pet research projects" to gain the most benefits to themselves.

FUTURE STRATEGIC DIRECTION

1 Re-focus on the pain of the victim of road trauma and the cost to society. People need to ask the question "will my actions help my fellow countryman and the country or am I just being self centred and uncaring." All actions (or lack of action) have consequences in road safety management.

2 Politicing and barriers between road safety organisations should be dealt to severely.

GENERAL COMMENTS

This is the single biggest cause of the lack of improvement in the road carnage in New Zealand.
Eg: why would the Road Safety Trust block New Zealands' first television advertisement on "drowsy driving" during labour weekend, Christmas and New Year ?
